RSPCA Cupcake Day
Web Design | UI Design | Coding
My Role:
UI Designer | Front-end developer
Duration:
3 Weeks
Tools:
Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver
Overview
The event microsite redesign of the RSPCA Cupcake Day website was completed in three weeks. The site was designed to be web, tablet and mobile responsive, coded using HTML5 and CSS3 in Adobe Dreamweaver.
This microsite allows users to find the information they are looking for by reducing the information typically found in subpages or tabs and creating it in a fun, appealing way.
Background
The design of this responsive microsite development was an assignment at Billy Blue College of Design to evaluate our coding and UI capabilities.
The task was to re-create a responsive microsite of a charitable organisation utilising a new UI design using their current branding and styling. In addition, the site needed to be fully responsive from desktop view to mobile view.
This project received a High Distinction (HD).
Design Segments
The Animation
A simple GIF animation was created in Photoshop and added to the site. This GIF was created in Photoshop using two separate vector images and applying a simple animation of their tails wagging.
Job Application Form
In a later assessment, we created a Job Application form to go along with this site. Although instead of using just HTML and CSS coding to produce the form, we were also to use PHP coding to validate the form input fields and make it look as visually appealing and responsive as possible.
This later project received a High Distinction (HD).
